Eliminated: Marquis Cunningham & Susie Garcia

As with all contestants, elimination needs to take place. I admit that I am not a fan of the last two who got eliminated, but I have to say that my opinion is based on performance (and maybe a little technique). Nigel calls it subjective. Nothing more.
Personally, I thought that Marquis has incredible technique. However, I do feel that his performances appear to be over the top and artless. The judges thought Marquis' performance was a bit exaggerated, and they expected more from Susie. Overall, they were disappointed. I partly agree with them. I didn't think it was too disappointing but I do think that Marquis did exaggerate a bit of his movements. I also thought that Susie should have done better (especially after being affected when she heard Alex da Silva say that she is more of a street Salsa dancer -- I guess it hurts to hear the truth).
The results show ended up with the following in the bottom 3:
- Susie & Marquis
- Chris & Comfort
- Thayne & Chelsea
After their final deliberation, the judges eliminated Susie & Marquis from the competition. From the guys' solos performed, I thought that Thayne had the perfect balance: technique & emotion. I wasn't too impressed with Chris (too bland) or Marquis (who actually had so many tricks in his solo). Repeatedly, the judges often say that the dancers need to step up their game. From what I understand, this does not just point to a dancer's technique. These dancers need to have a perfect blend of technique & performance (emotion and the audience needs to be captivated).
As for Susie, I just thought that she was out of her league.
