Is this season of American Idol slowly plodding heavily towards the finale? Why have some fans and viewers found it a dull slog as the show builds to its David Archuleta vs. David Cook finale next Wednesday?
Are we all missing the unpredictability and personalities in the show? I think that with each season, the talent gets better and better. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean that the show is getting interesting. The only top 10 shocker was when Michael Johns left the show. Last season, we were all loving and hating the surprises Sanjaya brought to each show.
Smartphones with WiFi
As my trusty old Treo is living its last few breaths, we went the store this weekend to look at the available smartphones (and enjoy the air conditioning). Because I have been spoiled with a few smartphone features, I now have a list of feature requirements:
- Frequency/Connectivity: World phone
- Full QWERTY keyboard
- Bluetooth & USB connectivity
- Microsoft Direct Push or at least a way to sync with my work calendar
- Calendar, Personal Organizer, Address book, Email
- Hands-free speakerphone
- Call waiting, Caller ID, Conference calling, Call Forwarding
- Multitasking capability
- WiFi/WLAN connectivity
- Web browsing (including multimedia/flash)
But, alas, after much ado about the latest and greatest phone models, I haven't found 'the' next phone for me yet. The Palm 700w/wx wasn't as multimedia friendly as I want it to be. It also required a WiFi accessory to get it connected to the WLAN. I'm not yet a 100% convinced with the iPhone since it doesn't play all the multimedia that I want it to. It also doesn't sync with my office calendar & contacts. Although, there is some promise of a second-generation phone coming out soon, as well as the push client that might be out this June.
