I've been following the first season of Rock The Cradle via its MTV website.

Children of famous music stars go head to head in a American Idol-esque singing competition. There are four judges in the show: Belinda Carlisle, Jamie King, June Ambrose, and Larry Rudolph. Each week, the contestants are scored (1-10, total 40) by the judges. Viewers of the show are also asked to vote via phone, text messaging, or online.
The show contestants are:
- A'Keiba Burrell, daughter of MC Hammer
- Landon Brown, son of Bobby Brown
- Lara Johnston, daughter of Doobie Brothers' Tom Johnston
- Chloe Lattanzi, daughter of Olivia Newton-John
- Crosby Loggins, son of Kenny Loggins
- Jesse Money, daughter of Eddie Money
- Jesse Blaze Snider, son of Twisted Sister's Dee Snider
- Lil B. Sure, son of Al B. Sure
- Lucy Walsh, daughter of Eagles' Joe Walsh
I thought that the show had so much promise. But, the truth is, it was quite disappointing. Fifty percent of the contestants were either mediocre or pretty bad.
The first two to go were Jesse Money and A'Keiba Burrell. Landon Brown continues to get low scores for singing out of tune but seems to survive the cutting board probably because the voters might think he's cute. Lil B. Sure and Lara Johnston fall under the mediocre category. Crosby Loggins is really talented but appears really shy and sometimes awkward on stage. Lucy Walsh sounds promising but seems to be holding back. Jesse Blaze Snider is a really good performer but is extremely cocky (annoyingly cocky). Chloe Lattanzi has a unique style which is enjoyable to watch but has a weird singing voice, looks like she's had major cosmetic surgery done, and might be in need of psychological help.
I keep reading review entries on the show's bulletin board from people saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything". Ahem. We are all entitled to our own opinion.
Anyway, so I figured, it might be a battle between Snider & Loggins in the end. Or, Walsh might surprise us too.
The show is still worth the watch but not something that you would want to wait for...especially, when you can just watch it online. If you missed any of the episodes and want to catch up...view the full episode videos here:
