American Idol. The show that brought us superb talents such as Kelly Clarkson & Carrie Underwood has been often accused of being more of a popularity contest rather than a singing contest. The show's title does say American Idol and not Best American Singer.
Last night, did we witness Idol getting victimized by frantic fans who voted endlessly for their favorites even though they deserved to be in the bottom three? Did Chikezie, Syesha Mercado, and Jason Castro deserve to be in the bottom three? Maybe so. Does this mean that Kristy Lee Cook, Ramiele Malubay, and David Archuleta still deserve a go for the top spot? Did you text/call enough votes to keep your favorite safe? Who truly deserves the title of this year's American Idol? Who deserves to go home this week?
Despite the numerous entries from bloggers desperately saying that KLC should leave tonight, she garnered enough votes to escape the dreadful bottom three. Chikezie, on the otherhand, may have been let down by his fans. Or, did he just not have enough fans to keep him safe? One thing for sure is that we (and I mean us who watch the show each week) will have to endure another week of KLC.
Goodluck Chikezie! You still made it to be part of the tour.
