Across The Universe. My favorite Beatles song. Written by Lennon, the song was greatly influenced by their then interest on Transcendental Meditation. Its chorus contains the line: Jai guru deva om, which means hail to the divine guru & then the sacred syllable om. When most Beatles fans consider it close to sacrilege when someone covers any of their songs, I find them complementary.
This last weekend, we watched the DVD movie Across The Universe. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

Set in the 1960s, take a ride with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Amid the years of anti-war protests, rock 'n roll, and free spirits, the movie guides us through the story of Jude, Lucy, and a small group of friends & musicians. You'll find familiar characters all through out the film, some real & surreal.

Sitting by the window, little Alice
Stare at the colors of her chalice
She took her wings and began to fly
Escaping the jabberwocky's eye
