"Hypocrite. Fake people. Artificial. I hate them."
You often hear these words. Have you ever wondered if the person who says it all time is a hypocrite? Ah! Maybe, maybe not. But, surely, you have met some backstabbers, moochers, flakers, and non-confrontational drama queens.
A hypocrite is defined as:
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
Some people just enjoy living "double-lives". They say one thing, but do another. Doing the right thing is different from being self-righteous. Rationalizing to justify your actions is not right.
I personally have met an obnoxiously large amount of hypocrites in my lifetime. YAY! (...and I continue to scratch my head in amazement!) I have to say that my favorite right now is the non-c drama-q. You can't always win the Most Pleasant Person of the Universe Award! You're only causing more confusion by being fake. Sure, make sarcastic remarks. Then, when asked if anything's wrong just say "Everything's OK. I feel awesome".
Now, how can you determine who's being fake or not? Trust your gut feeling. What do you do when you encounter these people? Start with confronting them. If that doesn't work, run like crazy to avoid them or just pretend that they are imaginary people (recommended). You already did what you can. It's not worth your time.
