Weird thing happened to me this morning. You know how sometimes your eyelid twitches involuntarily when you're tired? Well, this morning my right thigh muscle started twitching.
No. I don't have Paroxysmal dyskinesias, Myoclonus, or Dystonia. Nothing worse either.
It's just weird feeling and seeing your thigh muscle involuntarily contract.
However, involuntary muscle movements are mundane and normal. They are essential to our survival. Just imagine if your conscious mind had to process all the things your body is doing at every given moment.
Muscles twitching occurs because the activation level of a muscle fiber is tightly controlled by the amount of calcium present in a cell. Eh?
Anyhow, back to my muscle twitching. I figured that my thigh muscle was twitching because I didn't stretch enough yesterday. I also woke up tired which probably means that I was stressed out. It was a good bike ride though.
